GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONGKONG. 13th. September, 1911.
I have the honour to forward the enclos-
-ad copy of a letter from the Secretary to the Hongkong General Chamber of Commerce, dated the 4th. of last July, covering a schedule of the Importers, Exporters and Manufacturers of Hong- -kong. The Committee of the Chamber suggest that it might be possible for the Board of Trade to arrange with a large firm such as Kelly's Directories, Limited, of London for the publica- -tion and energetic handling of this schedule, and that, as the
information contained is of considerable value to home and
foreign exporters, Messrs. Kelly would no doubt be prepared to
pay a reasonable sum for it to the Hongkong Government. It
would cost a directory company several hundreds of pounds in
time and incidental expenses to collect the same data.
